On the left is the one of pumpkin plant and on the right is the tomato plant. The pumpkin has grown since this pictue was taken last week and another one will have to go up soon to sho the growth of it - it has been going great guns since I planted them.
All of the veg plants I have in pots out the front of my house have survived the heat. Helped no doubt by the fact that I have been watering regularly. today, I washed the dog and the bath water is waiting for me to cart out the front in a bucket to be put on the plants. The rest of the water will go on the trees. Nothing like re-using the water that I have.
Which makes me wonder why people really need relaxed watering restrictions. If they thought more obut using gray water (bath water and washing water) then I am sure there is not really the need to have put pressure on the government to relax the restrictions. I also wonder if we are as good at looking at what we are planting. Natives are really the way to go. Granted, I have veg planted and new veg plants at that. But I look at what gray water I can use - when I rinse out containers before putting them in the recycling bin - the water from these is then used on the plants. Simple things, but things that are really easy and simple to use.
