What do you want to tell your grandchildren?

Wouldn't it be something if decades from now our grandchildren could see that, although we lived in a time when climate scientists received death threats, Lord Monckton attracted media coverage and millions were spent by big industry on an anti-climate action advertising, a powerful movement of forward-thinking Australians joined together to do what was right?

Next Tuesday the Senate is slated to pass the Clean Energy Bill, a moment in history that will see billions invested in clean energy and our biggest polluters finally asked to pay for their emissions. We've been waiting for this for decades, through changes in government and countless news stories, speeches, rallies, conversations and individual actions. So to mark the occasion we've built a time capsule that will be stored for decades into the future. Can you leave your message in it before we unveil the capsule next week?

Be part of history - click here to add your message to the time capsule.

The time capsule will include materials that tell the story of our long climate action journey and will hold messages that embody milestones from along the way. It will document our past and serve as a reminder to the future about how Australians came together to fight for legislation to tackle dangerous climate change.

This doesn't mark the end of our fight for climate action. Not only has Tony Abbott made a "blood oath" to repeal our hard-won climate advances, but if we are to argue for stronger action in the future, we need to show the country that pricing carbon was something that we - the people - called for, something we demanded.
Tuesday's vote marks the culmination of an important fight for the passage of comprehensive climate legislation and will live on as a piece of Australian history. This has been a community campaign of epic proportions and you've been a part of it, it's time to take a step back and reflect. Often we are so focused on the fight for our clean energy future that we don't realise just how far we've come and how amazing the journey has been.

Leave a message for future generations about why you supported action on climate change:
