It's with regret that we had to make a decision to have our cat put down yesterday. We got up about normal time and found her almost comotose in the hall way, fitting. We wrapped her in a towel and rushed her stright to our vet. They pretty much rushed her out the back and put her on a drip and hot pack as she was deydrated and temp was low. In fact, they couldnt find a BP and a while to find a place to put the drip in.
A few hours later, she had stopped fitting, but was struggling and in a lot of pain - so we made a decision to have her put to sleep. The Vet said that her blood red cells were well down and that it was struggling to keep her body going. Also that her auto imune system was not working properly and that it was also likely her organs were going into organ failure. He said they could run tests and keep her going, but it would be questionable at what cost to her health as we may be just delaying the invevitable.
So, our little skitty has gone to where all good cats go and we've been really lucky to have her for 8 wonderful years.
