Skitty - our household cat

This is Skitty, our cat. She came into our lives in Febuary 2000, as a small stray kitten. She was a tiny little cat who turned up one evening while i was at work. My partner went to investigate the meowing and found a tiny, kitten sitting there on the front porch. However, there was no way she was letting him get close to her. So, he found a tin of Sardines, opened them and put them outside for her. He says he's never seen anything eat as quickly as the kitten did that night. As a result, she's been with us ever since.
We had her desexed and she made herself right at home. Skitty made friends quickly with our dog of the time, Bindy. They were extreamly close and the day we had to have Bindy put down at 17 years of age was devestating for all of us, incuding skitty. What we were to find out in the following days was that the kitten she had befriended from next door had also died the same day as we had Bindy put down and the lose of her two closest animal friends sent our cat into hiding under my partner's arm chair for almost a week.
Since then, we've gained another dog (Ella - who's appeared on this page) and their relationship has had their ups and downs as they define who has control and who's where in the pecking order.
However, for the past few days, we've noticed that not all was right with our Skitty. We made a decision to take her to the Vet on Saturday, taking the only time we could. We had to leave her at the Vet for the weekend (causing a rapid re-arrangement of the household budget for the fortnight - but she's our cat and we must do these things). She's now eating more and looking for fuss form the Vet nurses. Hopefully we'll find out what's wrong with her tommorow and will be able to bring her home again.
One thing the cat does tolerate is having her photo taken - when I walked past with the camera, she sat up, looking at me expectantly. End result was this shot, which I am fond of. It certainly is something that reflects our cat.
I hope everyone's had a good day and that you have all spent time with your mothers today. Here's to everyone having a good week.
